Its that time of year again, so I'll give you a quickie runthrough of Apple's newest line of products.

iPod Touch

$299-$399

The iPod touch is the iPhone and iPod combined. It has the same look and same touch-screen as the iPhone, with the music capabilities of an iPod. In other words, the iPhone, minus the phone bit. The real selling point is that it comes with WiFi. So you can surf the web and watch movies on your iPod or on Youtube, as well as listen to music. Really very nice, but why wouldn't you just get an iPhone? I personally don't have one yet, so I'm still not sure about the screen dirtiness concerns. It wouldn't fit to my busy and messy lifestyle. In 8 and 16 gig memory amounts, and black only.

The New Nano

$150-$200

The newest iPod nano has a much larger screen and plays movies! It is the same price range as the old ones, only now it is in 4 and 8 gig models, instead of 2 and 4. A much better price, and the movie thing is a definite plus, although you can only put one or two videos on it at the time, which lessens the function considerably. Still, it'd be fun, and since its no more expensive, I'm not too critical. I'm not loving the new colors nearly as much as the old ones, but you can get it in this turquoise, melon green, black, silver, and maroonish (the Project Red version)

The shuffle hasn't changed much or at all, as far as I can tell, so I'm not featuring that. They have it in some new colors I don't like as much.

harry potter theme park!

Universal Studios in Orlando, FL has devoted a portion of the theme park to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The park will open late 2009 or early 2010.

To say that I am excited is ridiculous.

The theme park will include Hogwarts Castle, the grounds, the Forbidden Forest, and Hogsmeade.

JK Rowling endorses the project but I'm not sure she has a ton of involvement, however, the set designer for the movies is working on it, and I'm sure he will make sure its absolutely authentic.

I'm craving pale blue with white and tan in an airy, beachy feel. So, I am turning my house into an airy, relaxing beach cabana. We are whitewashing the floors and possibly the ceiling and wall bits. We are also painting the walls sky blue, getting bamboo roller shades for a beachy vibe, and wrapping the legs of the piano with thick rope. We're scaling the furniture down to white slipcovers with white pillows and tan-and-cream striped beach towel pillows.

If anyone has any ideas for what we could do with the white rocks we brought back from the beach, please let me know.

I'm very excited, its going to look SO good! I'm combining the styles of the following two images to create the optimal beach cabana feel.

SHOES:

Why: Adorable little ballet flat-sneaker hybrids. They're springy but not too springy, and stylish while being neutral.

JACKET:

Why: In case you hadn't noticed, futuristic is SO in. This jacket manages to capture the future look while still being very practical.

TOP:

Why: Because its easy, cute, and just a little out of the ordinary. I'd go with the white shirt, black logo combo.

UNDERNEATH:

Why: Its a fun stripey superlong tank top. It'll soften up the look, play up the springy touch, and add a touch of pretty.

JEANS:

Why: They are relaxed, easygoing, comfy, and stylish. They keep your look from being too preppy or formal, too.

BELT:
Why: To keep the destroyed jeans from looking too destroyed, and to keep the future look going.

BAG:

Why: It brings out the sailor undercurrent in the tank and jeans. I don't know, I just looked and it and it screamed PERFECT! to me.

JEWELRY:

Why: These bright bangles are shiny as candy, but they're made of wood. Seamlessly blends the futuristic and sailor styles.

It is currently 16 degrees here. There are around 4 to 8 inches of snow on the ground, but it is blindingly sunny (the sun reflects off the snow and becomes exceptionally bright). Here is my online picks for an outfit of the day to suit it (i wish i owned it):

SHOES:
Why: You can't exactly wear ballet flats, heels, or any sort of sandals in even the thinnest snow, so I always go for shoes with a nice thick rubber bottom. That way they aren't soaked and gross if you happen to walk from the house to the car.

JACKET:
Why: Warm, soft, snuggly, and it matches perfectly. Plus, it'll still let you show off your shirt.
TOP:
Why: Its not short-sleeved, which is too chilly, but not long-sleeved, so you don't burn up if you sit by the fireplace. Its deliciously soft and SO cute and flattering.

UNDERNEATH:
Why: Layering is way in, so do it the cool way with this pretty-yet-bold tank. If red and blue's not your thing, you can edge it up with this same tank in black, soften it in pink, or choose from any of like 10 colors.

PANTS:
Why: Trouser jeans are way Brit-cute and comfy. 'Nuf said!

BAG:
Why: Its plenty big enough to hold schoolbooks, a laptop, or pretty much whatever you want. Its low-key and easy and cute and stylish.

JEWELRY:
Why: They match the style of the bag perfectly. The necklace would hang down soo pretty between the top's v-neck where that lucsious red tank top peeks out. And the bracelet is just pretty and coordinating.

i'm in it. its ugly here. but so warm. and i'm with my bestest "relatives" (we aren't really related) that i've known quite literally my ENTIRE life. the Davis's. I played barbies with Macy since I was 3 and I bit her when I was 5. I took dance and gymnastics with her. Her sisters Lena and Chloe, mothers Cynthia and Courtney, and brothers Dominic and Rocco are pretty much family. I love it. I got lots of fun jewlery and bags and stuff...:)

LG KG800 Chocolate White Phone or LG KG800 Chocolate Pink Phone. I personally don't really like them, I don't light the pink glow of the buttons on the pink one or the red glow of the buttons on the white one. I want a chocolate-colored phone with glowing pink or blue buttons. :(

Trends I've Noticed On TV While Watching Gilmore Girls Today:

1. Vacuum designers. Thomas Dyson "never loses suction" with his Dyson vaccum, and dear Karim Rashid (see past post about Karism Rashid Shop) has been designing vacuums since he was a child who was apparently constantly wearing a dunce cap, which is where the idea for the Kone vacuum came from. At least that's what the commercial implied.

2. Classical music. There's the Guaradelli commercial, the Jenny Whositwhatsit turkey commercial, the car commercials..

3. People with weird accents. They are always trying to sell stuff on TV, who knows why.

greeting card and stationary companies seemed to enjoy trying to come up with the strangest names. they seem to have an inexplicable obsession with eggs. there is uncooked (which, by the way, have absolutely, positively hilarious cards and stories, and you get to "click on the bag of pecans to enter") and egg press (whose things are really quite lovely).

The picture on top is Egg Press, uncooked has a terrible clever website that won't let me copy images to paste on here.

Eggs are an amazing food--a complete protein in every chicken fetus covered in nourishing slime!

I have also noted a strange fascination worldwide with ninjas. Perhaps it is that both are strange words that are fun to say and write and equally strange uses.

Will investigate further.
